We sing “a cappella” four part close harmony songs scored for tenor, lead, baritone and bass, a wide range of popular British and American music, some old, some new, e.g. songs made popular by Adele, the Everly Brothers, Billy Joel, Les Misérables, Monty Python, Ricky Nelson and Queen.
Every year the chorus attends the British Association of Barbershop Singers Convention which is held at various locations around the country. In recent years, for instance we have performed at Harrogate, Bournemouth and Llandudno.
We sing in concert, mostly in Norfolk and Suffolk, in churches, W.I. branches, private celebrations, church concerts, music festivals, charity fund raising events etc. The chorus will travel to most locations throughout East Anglia, it pays to check if we can by making contact through the ‘Contact Us’ page and someone will get back to you to discuss your proposal.
The club is always pleased to welcome visitors to our Wednesday evening rehearsals either with a view to joining us or just to listen but please use the “CONTACT US” button on the web site to let us know if you wish to come along.
We meet every Wednesday evening at 7.30pm at Lionwood School, Telegraph Lane East, Norwich, NR1 4AN.
The more formal name of the chorus is “Norwich Barbershop Harmony Club” but we are more often known as “Fine City Chorus”.
Please get in touch if you are interested.
